Malabar Charitable Trust

In nearly a decade and a half since the Malabar Charitable Trust commenced its activities, nearly more than 7 lakh needy persons have been recipients of financial assistance for medical purposes, with a total amount of nearly Rs. 38.47 Crore disbursed till date. In addition, during this period, at different locations across the country, the Trust has organized free medical camps in communities where the company has a presence.

The charitable works of the group started decades back and it took formal shape in the form of trust, the Malabar Charitable Trust (MCT) in 1999, MCT provides Food for the needy, medical aid, housing-related assistance to the needy and educational scholarships to the deserving, offers wedding assistance to needy families, and supports actions aimed at women empowerment and environmental protection.

1999

In the year 2004, the Malabar Housing Charitable Trust was set up to provide financial assistance to poor and deserving families for constructing housing facilities for themselves. Till date, over 20054 families have benefited from such assistance provided by the Trust, amounting to more than Rs. 67.11 Crore in total.

Malabar Housing Charitable Trust merged with Malabar Charitable Trust on February 2020.

Later in 2007, the management of the Malabar group decided to support educational program, especially aimed at the girl children. Accordingly, a scheme to provide educational scholarships to girl students for higher education, comprising financial assistance of Rs 6000/- to 10000/- each year as per the enquiry report. Basis of the aforesaid enquiry report, MCT will give score and cheque disbursal according to such score. Till date, over 67205 girl students have benefited from such assistance provided by the Trust, amounting to more than Rs. 37.80 Crore in total.
